I was lucky enough to get a ticket to the Werner Creek Farms event on Sunday, May 24th at the Werner farm in Winfield. My sister and I got tickets and really had no idea what to expect — except that they would be serving some of our favorite things!
It was a beautiful evening with fabulous music from Makayla Brownlee, Bluebird Brewery beer, and homemade pizza fresh out of the outdoor pizza oven. I even ran into an old friend there, and we enjoyed the atmosphere, conversation, and incredible food together.
There was also a variety of homemade pies to choose from including strawberry, strawberry rhubarb, chocolate, cherry, and coconut cream.
Not only is the farm beautiful, but guests also had the opportunity to see the gardens where the business truly comes to life. From blueberry vines and vegetable plants growing in hoophouses and raised beds to the commercial kitchen right on the property, it is apparent that this family works incredibly hard to bring homegrown food to the community.
Thank you, Werner Creek Farms, for such a memorable evening celebrating local food, community, and hard work!
