La Hacienda South carries on a legacy that began many years ago with David Spielman. David started by selling hay, straw, and farm machinery. As his vision grew, he added a produce building where customers could purchase locally grown vegetables.
Although David has passed away, his family continues to carry out his dream of providing a place where neighbors can find the things they need for their farms, gardens, homes, and animals.
I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Dianna Spielman, who has shared this journey and continues to help grow the store with that same passion and dedication.
The purpose behind David's dream was simple but important: to help the South End of Arkansas City grow by supplying the food and agricultural needs of local neighbors and their animals.
Today, La Hacienda South offers a wonderful variety of products, including:
Feed
Farm supplies
Garden tools and supplies
Flowers
Milk & bread
Pie fillings
Jellies & jams
Locally produced farm products (bison and beef)
And much more!
It is the kind of place where you can stop in for feed for your animals, pick up something for your garden, grab a loaf of bread or some locally made jam—and support a family that has made serving their community part of their legacy.
